Microsoft confirms Starfield will be released after Redfall

Starfield is Bethesda's most promising game yet, but if it weren't for some of Microsoft's most important games, we would have undoubtedly seen a special year in the industry. Especially with the release of big games like Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok, and while we don't know, an exact release date for Microsoft's next exclusive is needed. But now we know that we won't see it until Redfall.

Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty on the Friends Per Second podcast is very straightforward about when Starfield will release, and at the same time, it's annoying that we still don't have an exact release date for Redfall.

Having had the opportunity over the last year and a half to spend more time with Todd Howard and see how the game works and see what he brings to the table, I'm confident that it won't be stuck in what's been built before, so there's going to be a lot of things happening. There's a lot of progress in this game, and just from my perspective the first thing that excites me is the visuals.

As I said, we don't know an exact date, but at least we know from Microsoft since the announcement that both games will be delayed into the first half of 2023. This goes back to the fact that "both teams at Arkane Austin and Bethesda Game Studios have incredible ambitions for their games" and want to give us a perfect experience in every way.

Starfield and Redfall are coming exclusively to XBOX and PC, and if you're a Game Pass subscriber, you'll get both for free.
