Many may not know that the GDC Game Developers Conference is happening right now, and among the attendees was Epic, who showed off the power of their new Unreal Engine 5 by reviewing a few games that use the engine, including Lords of the Fallen for new-gen devices.

The video you can watch above shows the power of Epic's new engine and the skill of the HEXWORKS studio in applying the features of this engine in its next project. Where we will see the precision of the high-quality design in the smallest details, from the delicate motifs that appear on the character's belt, to the physics system that provides unprecedented realism in the primary and secondary movement system of the characters.

The video also sheds light on the precise lighting technique that uses reflections and shadows, as well as tracking radiation in an unimaginable way to simulate absolute realism.

What is Lords of the Fallen?

Lords of the Fallen is primarily developed for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. In the video above, the player is introduced as one of the legendary Dark Crusaders, who will undertake a quest to take down a demon named Adyr. The trailer also shows a trip to Skyrest Bridge, one of the locations you will visit early in the game.

Lords of the Fallen is set more than a thousand years after the events of the original 2014 game and its world is five times larger, CI Games said when the title was announced last August.

The player will have the possibility to travel between two worlds: Axiom, which is the realm of the living, and Umbral, which is the realm of the dead. Where the player will be able to move between the two worlds with ease and smoothness.

Furthermore, one of the features of this game is that it will support cooperative play for two players, who will be able to participate in the adventure together when it is released on new generation devices and PC sometime this year 2023.
