It's been a long time since Konami released a new mainline game in the Castlevania series. Most recently, the company collaborated with Motion Twin to release the Return to Castlevania content for Dead Cells, and is aware that there is a huge public demand for new titles in the series.

Speaking to IGN, Konami's Tsutomu Taniguchi said the company is aware of the excitement fans have expressed online about a new Castlevania installment, adding that it's a motivating topic for the publisher and reflects players' desire to get more versions of the series.

Tsutuma said the company tried to bring back the games people love and enjoy with the Castlevania Anniversary Collection and Castlevania Advance Collection. He continued:

We brought back Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night for PlayStation and mobile fans, and we launched Grimoire of Souls on Apple Arcade to celebrate the series. But we know our fans always want more, and so do we, so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get our hands on this incredible collaboration with Dead Cells..”

Of course, fans of the series want to see a new main installment, not just a reintroduction of the classic installments. Recent reports also claim that a new game in the series is in development and will be announced by Konami at E3 this year. Along with a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3.
