It's been a long time since we heard anything about Iron Man, developed by EA and its Motive Studio in collaboration with Marvel Studios. However, we recently learned that the game will not use the famous Frostbite graphics engine, but rather the Unreal Engine 5.

EA announced Iron Man in collaboration with Marvel a while back, and indicated that it was in pre-production. According to recent job postings, it seems that the actual development process has begun with Unreal Engine 5.

Motive Studio’s job postings indicate that they are looking for a Lead Designer with at least 5 years of experience. Additionally, the job requirements indicate that the candidate should have a strong knowledge of game engines, such as Unreal in particular.

The idea of EA Studios abandoning the Frostbite engine is not ironic. For example, it was abandoned by Respawn Entertainment and also by the team at BioWare. It seems that the only title now that relies on this engine is FIFA, or whatever its future name is.

The Iron Man project will be a single-player action-adventure genre, which is where Marvel has found the most success with its AAA titles. Spider-Man is a favorite among comic book fans and fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Which can't be said for the Avengers, which focused on team play.

Motive Studio is currently working on a Dead Space remake. In the past, however, it has worked on Star Wars: Squadrons and supported the development of DICE's Star Wars: Battlefront 2.
