It looks like Xbox Studios has some big projects coming up this year. Hi-Fi Rush was released by Tango Gameworks and now has over 2 million players. Redfall is due out in May, and Forza Motorsport just got a sneak peek at gameplay. But there are games like Hellblade 2 and Avowed that we haven't heard from in a while.
The Xbox Games Showcase is back in June, and president Phil Spencer says there will be some "great announcements" during the event. The question is, after Starfield... what's next for Xbox? On the VGC podcast, editor-in-chief Andy Robinson said he thinks the closest thing is Senua's Sacrifice: Hellblade 2 alongside Avowed, despite it not being featured much.
Unlike the case with Hellblade 2 and Avowed, VGC journalist Jordan Miller spoke about Fable and Playground Games not being sure what the game is. He said he reached out to some of the Fable developers because he believed the project would face mismanagement by 2022. Because of this, it's likely that the game will be delayed and not expected to release anytime soon.
It's interesting that the term "Witcher-like" has been used among the title's developers, which would be something different from what the Fable series is known for. One developer's LinkedIn profile indicated that the game was in a playable state, though nothing has been officially confirmed.
As for the Starfield title slated for this year's Xbox Series X/S and PC, sources speaking to Jez Corden indicate that the game is playable from start to finish. He also believed it could launch in June.
