As the end of the year approaches, events that honor video games from various sectors have begun to hand out their awards, and it looks like God of War Ragnarok has claimed its second “Game of the Year” title.

The competition this year may be fierce, but everyone believes the race for Game of the Year 2022 will come down to two titles: FromSoftware's Elden Ring, which has received the highest ratings for any video game on home platforms this generation, and Santa Monica's God of War Ragnarok, which has received high reviews and a lot of engagement from the gaming community.

The famous TIME magazine launched this year its version of the Best Game of the Year 2022 competition, to compete among the strongest games of this year for the title of “Game of the Year 2022”. And although there were many competitors on the list, which included 10 titles released during 2022, God of War Ragnarok managed to snatch the title from great games such as Horizon Forbidden West, The Quarry and, of course, the game Elden Ring.

Editor of TIME newspaper Richard Newby Commenting on the game's selection for the newspaper's Game of the Year title, he said it should be a source of inspiration for all action-adventure games. He praised the game's narrative and graphics, which he believed surpassed all the nominated titles.

Of course, this is the second time the game has been named Game of the Year, as earlier this month it was awarded the title by the Spanish International Conference.

That still doesn't leave Elden Ring empty-handed, as the game has already been named Game of the Year by Golden Joysticks. However, attention now turns to the biggest annual event, which is The Game Award 2022, which takes place next month.
