This new Vampire Survivors mode is going to be the end of me

I've been obsessed with Vampire Survivors ever since I bought it to play on my Steam Deck, but now I'm convinced developer Poncle wants to kill me. It's leaving early access next week, on October 20th, and the launch version will include the previously announced Endless mode and the newly revealed Inverse mode. It's the latter that will surely mean my death.

Apparently, the reverse only applies to the most talented survivors, which I definitely can't count on. While it increases the amount of gold you'll earn, it doesn't compensate for the fact that enemy health increases by 200%, and these enemies also become stronger over time.

I have absolutely no idea what kind of building will be able to handle this, but it's certainly not one I created. I bet I'll end up getting murdered by a mere bat. It'll be incredibly embarrassing, and I hope my family disowns me. In my clan, only the best vampire survivors get any love.

The mode's name comes from its final twist: the levels will all be flipped upside down. I think I can probably handle it because I haven't memorized all the layouts yet. Finally, having a slow brain is useful!

Also coming with 1.0 is Twitch integration, skins, a new UI, more music tracks, and more that Poncle hasn't revealed yet. After launch, Poncle will also port it to a new engine. (opens in new tab), with an update expected by the end of the year. There's no need to wait until launch to give it a spin: the early access version is fantastic, and at £4/$5, it's a ridiculously good value.
