We've always known that the God of War series has been almost devoid of humor since it was released on the PS2, or partially. But with God of War Ragnarok (no spoilers) we see a vacant place for a bit of good humor and good humor.
Game director Eric Williams stresses the importance of light-hearted humor in his interview with Game Informer. Eric was asked about the presence of humor in God of War Ragnarok. Was this a result of the team's desire to present that spirit? The director responded that it was true and indicated that humor had to be included so that the game wouldn't be completely dark.
At the beginning of their strong desire to provide some jokes, the team was very excited. They wondered how to do it and “we have to do it somehow” because not everyone wants the God of War universe to be so dark.

“Eric” also mentioned the importance of changing the directors of the series, and the presence of a character like “Korean Arlog” is an important thing for internal guidance, so that we all feel like we are playing the same game with its usual identity.
God of War Ragnarok had a strong launch with mass interaction with the game. Where it was and still leads the trend in many countries and regions on social media platforms and the Internet.
