God of War Ragnarok is now available for PS4 and PS5. Fans of the series can now embark on epic adventures in the world of Nord and explore the fate and truth of prophecy.
This new part of the game introduces a skill development system that will increase Kratos' power throughout the game. This will definitely make him more capable against several tougher enemies and some very annoying bosses.
Just like in the previous part, in God of War Ragnarok you will use the skill tree to level up Kratos. But a skill tree alone is not enough to face the toughest enemies. You will need more than that, as the weapon skill tree works with a variety of combat moves. But you will also need the efficiency of these moves by increasing their level.
How to increase Kratos' power level in God of War Ragnarok
Combat encounters and quest completion increase experience point gains, but they’re not the deciding factor in our hero’s overall level. Instead, they’re the sort of “currency” you’ll call upon to activate a variety of additional moves in your skill tree. They also upgrade special combat abilities like Runic Strikes and Spartan Rage.
The only way to increase Kratos' overall power level is by upgrading his equipment and weapons. You can tell by looking at the number in the top left corner when you open the menu.
When switching between the different upgrade items, you will notice that the counter in the left corner goes up and down depending on the available or potential upgrade, or according to the accessory and items of the armor or weapon you have acquired. This includes the following equipment:
weapons – The items and upgrades you put into it will increase leviathan axe or blades of chaos And even the expandable shield is of a general level rating after upgrading, though armor upgrades only increase its level at a slightly slower rate.
Shield – Chest armor, wrist armor, and waist armor will increase in rank when purchased, equipped, and upgraded. Chest armor upgrades must be at the same level as weapon upgrades. Upgrading your wrist and waist armor increases their rank as much as your armor.
Weapon attachments By equipping and upgrading your weapon grips, as well as shields and accessories, their level will increase slightly, but it will not be the same as normal armor and weapons.
Important note
Critical and rare items such as relics, rune strikes, and your Spartan Rage abilities do not increase your overall tier rating when you upgrade, as higher tier abilities are locked to your weapon tier, not the other way around.
Even the magic in his Yggdrasil amulet does not increase his level rating, although it does increase his stats. Likewise, the upgrades acquired for Atreus do not affect Kratos' level.
You will get many parts, treasures and items that will be part of the development of armor and weapons using Hacksilver that you will find in the legendary chests hidden in most of the game world. At the same time, it will be related to the general difficulty of the area in which you found it. You will need many valuable components to upgrade the shield or one of the weapons.
Since game worlds and specifically some regions have a different level of difficulty associated with them, you will often find the same types of upgrade materials when exploring a specific region. Although this may allow you to start upgrading multiple sets of armor or accessories to switch between.
There will be enemies that are difficult to defeat even if your level is high, so you will need to change your strategy from time to time and expose your enemies' weaknesses even if you use lower-level armor and accessories.
Over time, your weapons will improve as you level up, but you'll likely only be able to find the materials to upgrade them by defeating powerful bosses during the main story. Some of them can also be found by exploring side quests.
