The marketing campaign for Dead Island 2 continues, as we've already gotten previews of the six playable characters and their abilities. Now we have a new look at the game that shows us the abilities that can be purchased using experience points, as well as skills and more.
Dead Island 2 will come with skill cards that allow players to customize their special perks, abilities, and powers as they battle zombies. The cards are organized into groups that players can swap out and completely change at any time during battle against enemies.
Players will be able to earn skill cards by leveling up their character or eliminating enemies. Collectibles can also be found scattered around the city, so exploration will also be required.
Cards grant special powers and abilities to aid in combat. Ability cards are categorized into different categories, such as Innate, Skill, Survivor, and Killer, with players being able to select a different number of cards from each. These cards can be swapped at any time during the game, even in mid-air if desired. While most cards can be used with all six playable characters, it appears that Innate cards will be limited to just one character.
With these mechanisms, the game will give you the possibility to acquire powerful skills for each character, some of which are unique only to a certain character. You can watch the presentation above, which explains in detail the principle of their operation within the game.
We remind you that Dead Island 2 will be released for current and previous generation devices, as well as for PC, on April 21st.
