Publisher Valve finally announced Counter-Strike 2 last week, with a limited beta launching around the same time.
Due to the great hype that came after the announcement of the game and the return of players to prepare for the new part, the title Counter-Strike: Global Offensive achieved a new jump in the number of players yesterday with more than a million and a half players according to SteamDB regulations.
The last major record was 1.3 million active players in April 2020, during the start of the coronavirus pandemic. Of course, with the reveal of Counter-Strike 2, many more players may be wanting to see why the game is getting a sequel or at least get in the mood for a sequel this summer.
Counter-Strike 2 is coming out this summer for PC and is a free game for everyone. Everything the player has in the current part will be present in the new part without any problems. Weapons, graphics and map models in general will receive a very good upgrade. The game's older maps have been completely rebuilt from the ground up, leveraging all the tools in the Source 2 engine to showcase their full visual assets.
If you've had a chance to try out the limited beta, be aware that the version only offers Deathmatch and Unranked Competitive mode on the Dust 2 map, and there will be other modes, maps, and features visible or not over time.
