Capcom has undoubtedly had a lot of success in recent years in responding to its fans by re-releasing enhanced versions of the best parts of the Resident Evil series. However, there are one or two remakes that players still really want, one of which is Resident Evil Code Veronica.
The gaming community has been demanding a remake of Resident Evil Code Veronica in several posts on social media. Stephanie Panisello, the voice actress for the character Claire in the game, believes that making a remake of the said part is something she would like to do with a lot of love and clear motivation.
During an interview that Panisello gave to Push Square, in which she said that the decision to make a remake of the aforementioned game is entirely up to Capcom and that there is still no official announcement about the start of development, but she would very much like to return to the game in the remake and continued:
“I get asked about this remix a lot, and unfortunately it’s not up to me. I agree that it’s a game that could use a little more love spread throughout the series, and I would be honored if Capcom chose me to remake the game and play Claire again. However, the decision ultimately rests with the company, and I respect where new entries take their place in the series, so I hope we get a Code Veronica re-release.”
The original was released in 2000 on the Dreamcast and is set three months after the events of Resident Evil 2. Claire sees Claire captured by the Umbrella Corporation during a raid on a facility in Paris and taken to a remote island run by the company.
The game was later released on the PS2 as Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X with bonus scenes featuring Albert Wesker. Do you hope the company's next remix will return to this installment or another installment in the series?
