Naraka: Bladepoint first appeared during The Game Awards 2019, and is a free-to-play “hack and slash” action and fighting game with the battle royale system, a popular game system in East Asia, consisting of sixty players and officially entered its second year.

The game focuses heavily on melee combat mixed with martial arts in a world inspired by East Asian myths and culture. Featuring single and triple threat modes, the game is set on the fictional Morus Island, where heroes gather to fight.

The game Naraka: Bladepoint was first released in August 2021 on PC with support for NVIDIA's DLSS technology, and at that time it gained great admiration from players and critics, which made Studio 24 Entertainment re-release it again for Xbox Series owners in June 2022, and indeed its success continued and achieved great successes in terms of ratings and number of players.

Earlier this month, it was officially announced that battle royale game Naraka: Bladepoint will finally be coming to PS5 owners on July 13, making it a free-to-play game across all devices including PC and Xbox.

The number of players, after turning it into a free-to-play title, reached 20 million players. The transition from the paid version to the free version, which actually started on July 14, brought with it a set of new content, features and updates, as well as some features for veteran players.

To receive veteran rewards, all you need to do is purchase the game before it switches to free-to-play. If you do, you’ll receive rewards via in-game mail. Here’s what you can expect as a veteran player:

  • At the top of the list is a deposit of in-game gold currency. The amount you receive will be equal to the amount you actually paid for the game. So if you buy NARAKA: BLADEPOINT for $ 19.99, you will receive the equivalent amount of gold.
  • You’ll also receive ten loot chests, known as New Season Treasure, as well as an exclusive Legendary Hero skin, an exclusive Legendary weapon skin, and an exclusive avatar.

That’s some pretty cool loot, but that’s not all that’s coming to the game when the Switch launches tonight. Here’s a look at some of the new content and features launching today:

  • Capture the Spirit Well: A new 12v12 game mode in which players compete to capture locations to earn points.
  • New Dual Halberd Weapon: The new weapon combines a spear and a dagger. It can stab in a straight line as well as attack horizontally with the ability to lock onto other weapons.
  • Chamber of Justice Updates for Guild Mode: New leadership positions and other features have been added to the existing guild system.
  • New hero Tessa: a 1,000-year-old demon in fox form who can charm her enemies and take their souls.
  • New Season Theme: Classic Mountains, Seas, Four Seasons Genius Theme.
  • 3D Lobby: Players can fight and explore the atmosphere while waiting.
  • New Costume: New costume inspired by the famous Chinese art style of the famous painting Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains.
  • Finally, in-game events and rewards on the anniversary occasion: When players log in daily and complete various tasks, they will receive rewards once they reach a certain point level. The rewards will include a large number of treasures, a legendary weapon skin, and many other cosmetic items.

Developer 24 Entertainment regularly releases seasonal updates for the game that expand the game's story and include things like special rewards and seasonal quests. Season 8: Reckoning kicked off a few months ago.
