PlayStation 5 sales surpass 31 million units and more..

Sony announced a few hours ago the statistics for the third quarter of the current fiscal year, as sales of the PlayStation 5 reached 32.1 million units by the end of last December.

this statistic(by Tom Warren(Indicating that the company managed to ship 7.1 million units in the last three months, which is equivalent to double the amount shipped in the same period last year, which was 3.1 million units.

The company also revealed statistics for its PlayStation Plus monthly subscription service, which reached 46.4 million, a clear decrease compared to the number of subscribers recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal year, in which the number of subscribers reached 48 million.

Additionally, more than 112 million active users were registered on PSN PlayStation Network during the same period, an increase of 1 million over last year.

As for game sales, more than 86.5 million games were sold during the fiscal year through last December, down from 92.7 million games in the previous fiscal year.

First-party games saw a huge jump during the current fiscal year compared to last year, as over 20.8 million units were sold compared to 11.3 million last year.

This jump in sales is due to the launch of major titles from PlayStation and its partners, notably the game God of War Ragnarok, whose sales were recently revealed to have surpassed the 11 million mark in less than 3 months after its launch.

Sony is still setting a target of reaching 33 million PlayStation 5 units before the end of the current fiscal year, which ends on March 31. It has sold over the past three months, largely due to its success in overcoming production and shipping barriers and strong demand for the device.

Sony also sets a target of 33 million that it intends to sell during the next fiscal year, which begins on April 1.
