Atomic Heart is approaching its release date, which is just a few hours away. But suddenly and unexpectedly, some developer files and a preliminary version of the game have leaked onto the Internet. The team is trying to stop and pull everything that has leaked.
Atomic Heart comes from the Russian team Mundfish, and the game's events take place in an imaginary distant future. The player plays as a well-trained ex-soldier tasked with regaining control of a facility where robots have gone out of control and have begun attacking and killing humans.
The game is a first-person shooter with a linear storyline and a fully open world that allows you to explore. Unfortunately, just 48 hours before the game's release, some of its developer files and raw builds were leaked across the internet, specifically by the Reddit community.
The site mentioned that the game's design leak was released on a platform called Breached. This information goes hand in hand with claims that surfaced in November. Suggesting that the game's core files had fallen into the hands of a third party, he asked on Reddit what he should do with those files. The original post has since been deleted, and now that we're just over three months and days away from release, there's a chance this guy has made good on his word.
A few days ago, a group of gamers managed to get their hands on the game and share it on different platforms. This angered the developer because their game was fully revealed before it was released. So far, most of the leaks have been contained, but there are fears that someone might try to blackmail the team in the future.
Atomic Heart is set to release on current and last-gen platforms and PC on the 21st of this month. The game's composer had previously revealed that he would donate all of his profits to the victims of the Russo-Ukrainian war.
