Surprisingly, and without any introduction, the Ubi market shared with us today a video review of the Skull & Bones gameplay style, which it postponed just a few days ago.

The video, which you can watch below, shows how the game's story can be told by traversing its open world and playing group games with friends online through what's known as "investigation."

Investigation is the new way that the developers of Skull & Bones bring narrative elements to the game. And this is by following some steps that can reach the player at the end to know a new secret or discover a treasure or something similar. narrative director Joel Janis He commented on this, saying:

The player follows a path that they find interesting depending on their point of view, and they are likely to get a clue that leads to some kind of treasure… but at the same time it tells a story about some faction or the game world.

Janis added that these paths can be created by finding a message in a bottle floating on the surface of the sea, for example, or a newspaper clipping lying on the ground, or by talking to people the player may encounter on islands in the game's vast world. Through any of these elements, a story can be created that can be told in an interesting way.

The Skull & Bones game was supposed to be released on March 9th of this year, 2023, but the French publisher surprised us when it recently announced that the game had been delayed to an unspecified date in early next year, 2024.

After this delay, which comes among many previous delays to the game, Ubisoft has announced that it will soon share with us more details about the game, and it seems that this time it has arrived soon with this fat video that analyzes a large part of the gameplay system.

Ubisoft justified the delay by saying that Skull & Bones' gameplay system has not reached a convincing level, as the developers need more time to expand it and make it better than it is at this stage.

Now from what you saw in the video above, do you think the game actually needs more time, or is this just how you think it is as a device?
