It didn't take long for Sons of the Forest to top the list of best-selling games because in just 24 hours the game sold more than 2 million copies. A group of gamers have already managed to finish the new piece in record time. I don't mean two days or one day or even an hour, but less than that.
Looking at the Sons of the Forest page on speedrun.com, you’ll see that there are plenty of speed challenges for the game on easy mode, which eliminates any enemy threats. As of this writing, there’s one player who’s leading by about 7 minutes. No player has finished the game in under eight minutes on the harder settings. Benjamin_Sama__ beat the game with a time of 8:44 minutes on “Normal” difficulty, but that’s still an incredible time.
Obviously, reaching the end of the game in such a short time required the use of some exploits. Even finding such exploits and using them in a useful way is difficult enough, but this is how players break world records. It's also not the first time we've seen this kind of challenge.
Sons of the Forest is the sequel to one of the best survival games of all time, The Forest, released in 2018, where the game places you and those with you on an island full of creatures trying to kill you while you search for your son. In addition to the excellent crafting, survival and building system, the game provided us with a very good, interesting and surprising story.
