Sony has made it possible to purchase certain PS1 games from the PlayStation Digital Store without having to subscribe to the PS Plus Premium service. This means that if gamers enjoy collecting classic games, they can buy them and keep them forever.
PS1 games have only been available to play as part of a PS Plus Premium subscription since the service launched last year, though from today it's possible to buy and download three classic games just like on any PS4 or PS5.
The collection so far is mostly the latest classic console games that have been added to the Premium Plus service. This means you can get the following without a subscription:
- The Legend of Dragon game for US $ 10.
- Wild Arms 2 by $10.
- Harvest Moon: Back to Nature by US $ 6.
It seems that the company is considering adding more classic games and offering them for purchase through the PlayStation Digital Store. Ever since Sony started adding games for the first device in the family, I've been surprised by the high demand for them through the Premium service.
We mentioned that the PlayStation Plus Premium service offers a linear gaming experience of two hours. While sandbox games can be played for up to 3 hours and finally open-world games and RPGs for up to 5 hours.
Subscribers can also, after trying any of these games, transfer their gift to the full version if they decide to purchase it through PlayStation Store. Of course, the game must be purchased through the same account on which the PlayStation Plus Premium service is activated, to ensure that the game progress elements are transferred to the full version.
