PS5 platform version of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 It only contains about 70 MB of data on the physical version, rather than the larger number of files one would expect from a major game release.

According to MP1st, gamers who managed to get their hands on physical copies of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 found that the discs only contained 70MB of data, which is likely DRM or some of the more important protection files.

Supposedly, inserting the disc into the PS5 won't do much other than force the platform to download the entire game, but trying to play the disc without downloading anything will force you to connect to the PlayStation Network to download an update to allow you to play.

It's also worth noting that players saw a 40GB update on day one before they started playing, and shortly after day one, the total size of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 increased significantly, and according to reports, the data volume is now around 152 gigabytes.

While there's no confirmation as to whether the disc version of the Xbox version of the game does the same, it's very likely that Xbox discs will also only contain license data, rather than a full game that can be played offline like we were previously used to.
