All users of the PS5 platform are always waiting for the biggest technical updates to get new social features to make it easier to play with friends and features that make the overall user experience easier. Today, some users are getting these long-awaited features, which we will learn about below.

Starting today, all players participating in the PS5 system beta in the following select regions of the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, Germany, and France are receiving invitations to test new features for this system before their possible inclusion in a full system update.

New features include the ability to join conversations in the Discord app directly from your PS5 device, and the ability to start or request a screen sharing session with a friend directly from your profile, which will allow you to chat with friends on other platforms through the app. which is expected to launch on the platform years ago. You can turn on the screen reader in the new update as it has been improved.

The beta also gets variable frame rate (VRR) support for displays that support 1440p resolution. And there are other new features like PS5 to PS5 support and the ability to manually upload in-game screenshots to the PlayStation App.

Using voice commands to capture videos is now available along with the ability to sort and categorize games as you add them to your playlist. These features are largely supported due to the improvement that came to the DualSense controller along with the system update. This will also give the new interface that officially comes with the update some order.

Sony said on its blog that a full system update that will deliver these features will be released globally “in the coming months.” Some of the beta features may be changed before the full release or simply not made it into the final update, but I suspect none of them will be there because they’re all really important.
