Everyone knows that the PlayStation 5 platform has achieved impressive numbers, but in its home country it seems to have dominated the market as always, of course. Around one million PS5s have been sold in Japan. Although this is quite an achievement, several complications have slowed down the sales of the platform since it was launched there.
Now it's us we are talking About Sony selling more than 30 million units worldwide, and with these numbers on paper, there are still many gamers looking for a PS5 for themselves. The success of the platform brings negative factors for the company due to the lack of parts in the market and the existing economic crises.
If we talk about the performance of the platform in general, according to a previous report by Famitsu magazine, the PlayStation 5 platform has officially sold 2 million units in its home country of Japan. Sales of the entire platform reached 20 to 30 million copies in just six months, which indicates a more than impressive performance for the platform.

The platform's resounding success came with the help of exclusive titles that set it apart from the rest, with the Gran Turismo series selling over 90 million copies, and the God of War series selling 54 million copies. In terms of platforms, the best-selling is the PS2, which has sold around 159 million copies. The PS4 comes in third, with sales of 117 million copies.
Sony is still setting a target of reaching 18 million copies during the fourth quarter of the current fiscal year as of March 31, while aiming to sell 33 million copies during the next fiscal year of 2023-2024.
Recently, a PlayStation 5 bundle was spotted with an additional DualSense controller, which is expected to be available in global markets this month or early next month.
On the other hand, Microsoft is looking to partner with some developers and publishers in Asia to control a large share of those markets and expand the reach of Xbox platforms and the Game Pass service there.
