God of War Ragnarok completed its first week since launch on Wednesday, November 9. As the game managed to reap many achievements during that time.

Specifically in this part. Kratos and his son Atreus had to complete their dangerous adventure in the Norse world of Norse mythology. Where they seek to know the truth of the prophecy and try to change the terrible fate that awaited one of the heroes of this story.

But what caught our attention in the midst of all this, while players were enjoying this exciting adventure. And the developer Santa Monica Studio, delighted with the success of the game, PETA appeared and posted a video with a comment on its official Twitter account. Expressing its objection to the way animals are treated in God of War Ragnarok.

The organization pointed out that the game contains many scenes that show the torture of animals. Including the giant wolf that Kratos and his son face “without spoilers”. This animal motivated them to ask Sony Santa Monica to introduce a new mode called PETA mode. This mode allows you to hide all content of animal violence in the game.

As expected, this tweet received thousands of negative responses from Twitter users, with responses ranging from those who considered it a big joke on the part of the organization, to those who considered it simply an attempt to get attention. Sony or the developer have yet to comment on these claims.

This isn’t the first time PETA has stepped in to speak out about animal cruelty through video games, as it previously criticized the game “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” over the game’s hunting elements. This is what cockfighting looks like in FarCry 6.
