After numerous reports emerged indicating Nintendo and Microsoft would not be present at the upcoming E3 2023 show, here we are receiving official confirmation from the first company regarding its absence. The company has logical and compelling reasons for its absence.
Nintendo confirmed to IGN that it will not be attending E3 2023 because the show schedule and release dates don't work for the company and conflict with its summer schedule. With this confirmation, we hope Microsoft will reconsider its decision regarding its participation in the show, and if it doesn't, we won't see the three industry giants there.
Nintendo released an official statement about the expo, saying the following, with explanations for the no-show:
"We approach our participation in any event on a case-by-case basis and are always thinking of different ways to engage with our fans, but this year's E3 didn't fit into our plans, so we made the decision not to participate. Despite this, we continue to strongly support the ESA and E3."
So, ultimately, the reason the company pulled out of the show isn't a lack of headlines to reveal. We don't yet know how much this will affect the show organizers after hearing about all these major company absences, but we'll wait and see.
We remind you that this year's version of E3 will be released in mid-June, as a new agreement has been signed to organize this event.
