The Saudi Electronic Sports Federation has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the well-established Japanese gaming company Namco Bandai Holdings. The memorandum aims to foster cooperation between the two parties in the field of electronic sports and the Arabization of electronic gaming.

The agreement was signed by the Saudi Electronic Sports Federation, Chairman of the Board, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan, while Bandai Namco was represented by President and CEO Mr. Yasuo Miyakawa. The signing ceremony was held at Bandai Namco headquarters in the Japanese capital, Tokyo.

Through this agreement, the Saudi Federation seeks to be a game changer in the world of electronic games at a regional level, Arabizing electronic games for a giant company like Bandai Namco, reaching the Arab gamer and attracting other companies from around the world to the Arab and Saudi gaming market.

Following the signing of the agreement, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Electronic Sports Federation, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan, said:

The MoU with Bandai Namco will contribute to the empowerment and supremacy of esports globally in general and at the regional level in particular. It will also help to bring Arab and local players into the spotlight of the world’s leading esports companies.

We seek, through this agreement and others like it, to place the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the forefront of countries around the world in the field of gaming and esports, advance the national strategy for gaming and esports, and make the Kingdom a hub for gaming.

It is worth noting that the work of the Saudi Esports Federation is twofold, as the first part is to develop the levels of competitive players, starting from the social level and ending with professional athletes who can achieve global excellence. The second part of the business focuses on developing the gaming and esports system, stimulating the industry and training talents.
