Since its release over ten years ago, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has remained one of the most popular team-based shooters on PC. Despite its growing popularity, there have been rumors confirming the existence of Counter-Strike 2.
Thanks to some people's data mining skills, there appears to be more evidence that something big is going on in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. One such person, Aquarius, found a clue on the Steam storefront. While searching the Steam database, Aquarius noticed a file called "cs2.exe." Deciphering this name, we could create Counter-Strike 2 or perhaps a new update to Counter-Strike's Source 2 engine, which has also been the subject of rumors and speculation.
While this seems like solid evidence, Valve has yet to provide any official confirmation or denial of anything related to a new engine part or update. While Counter-Strike has changed a lot in the last eleven years, a new engine part or update would be a welcome change for players hoping for a revamp.

With the current era seeing major improvements in online and shooter games, and the game itself a bit outdated compared to its competitors, some players may be ready for a new update, whether through an engine update or a completely new component. This new Aquarius discovery seems quite compelling, even if it's not yet 100% obvious.
