eFootball 2023 update v2.4.0 is now available to everyone and while it has brought a lot of content, the most important thing has been the focus on fixing and improving the gameplay system that many of the game's fans have been demanding over the past few years.

Fixes in eFootball 2023 v2.4.0 update

In this report, we will take you on a tour of the most important reforms and improvements that mainly affected the game system in the new update, which were the following:

1- Dribble

  • The pass response system has been significantly improved, especially when movement slows down or immediately after receiving the ball and on corners.
  • The shield command or defending the ball in the middle of a dribble has been improved, as the player can now perform the shield position only when the ball is under control.

2- Pass

  • Modifications have been implemented to make the mid-dribble shot command more responsive.
  • Modifications have been made so that when the kick command is executed just before the ball is controlled, the subsequent kick will be more responsive.
  • Adjustments have been made so that direct passes to a position are now executed more accurately than before.
  • Adjustments have been made so that through balls are now executed at a more appropriate speed, as before, sometimes through balls were executed at a very slow speed.
  • Modifications have been implemented to mitigate the issue of players being unable to receive passes correctly.
  • Fixed an issue with Normal Passing Level 1 and 2 where performing a high pass with the power meter maxed out in a specific direction without teammates present would trigger a manual pass.

3- Shooting kicks

  • Modifications have been implemented to allow players with the 'Acrobatics' skill to perform stunts more frequently in specific scenarios. Improvements have also been made to the speed and accuracy of 'Acrobatic Finish' attempts.
  • Modifications have been implemented so that when entering the “Shoot” or “Clear” command very close to the opponent, players respond with the ball more quickly.
  • Adjustments have been implemented so that appropriate shooting movements are chosen with regard to distance and other gameplay conditions.
  • Fixed an issue where taking a shot right after a shot pass could result in an excessively high-speed shot.

4- Get the ball

  • Adjustments have been made to some ball control movements, as previously players would sometimes move slowly after touching the ball.
  • Modifications have been made to mitigate the issue where, when controlling a ball that is suddenly approaching, players may tap too hard even if the Dash command is not executed.
  • Fixed an issue where teammates running for a short corner kick may not be able to control the ball correctly.

5- Defense

  • Adjustments to player movement speed have been implemented on defense to ensure proper gameplay balance in response to other attack-related adjustments.
  • Fixed an issue with matchmaking where the player could move towards the ball even if the direction input command was executed in a different direction.
  • Fixed an issue where possession could not be regained correctly even if the player's body was between the ball and the opponent.
  • Fixed an issue with the high ball drop zone where players could attempt to head the ball straight away instead of battling for control with the opponent.
  • Adjustments have been implemented to make it easier to intercept an oncoming ball, where previously players were sometimes unable to block oncoming passes despite being in a position to do so.

6- Goalkeeper

  • Adjustments have been implemented to ensure goalkeepers make the appropriate decision to catch a ball in the air in appropriate scenarios, previously they would sometimes select to kick the ball away.
  • Fixed an issue where goalkeepers were unable to retreat quickly enough against a high trajectory shot, resulting in a save being made too late.
  • Modifications have been implemented to mitigate the issue where a goalkeeper could fall after a tackle with another player when attempting to defend the goal and not being able to make an intended save.

There are also other improvements brought by the eFootball 2023 v2.4.0 update that improve the level of graphics and physical effects for players.

While eFootball 2023's v2.4.0 update brings all these improvements, the game still lacks some gameplay phases that the game's audience has come to expect, most notably the Master League phase and the Co-Op phase, which Konami has promised to bring to the game in future updates.
