Today, Microsoft revealed the details of the new Xbox platform update, which should start reaching users today. The new update will bring many improvements to the system, mainly the new energy saving system.
The new energy-saving system, previously available to Xbox Insiders, will be the first to take carbon emissions warnings into account when downloading and installing games and updates.
Immediately after a system update, your Xbox will automatically be put into shutdown mode, which Microsoft says reduces power usage by up to 20 times compared to sleep mode.
But what about the constant game and system updates?
Well, Xbox will try to schedule all updates for times when most of the electricity is coming from low-carbon sources on the local power grid. In a post on Xbox Wire, Microsoft said:
“This reduces dependence on fossil fuels and carbon dioxide emissions and can save money too.”
Additionally, among the other additions that the Xbox update will bring to the system is the ability to hide iconic game images in the system's user interface.
There will also be the possibility of installing the main screen background, where when switching between the game icons on the main interface instead of constantly changing the background according to the chosen game, the background will be installed in one of the basic colors according to the user's previous choice.
Additionally, Microsoft confirmed that it has partnered with Google to allow gamers to use the Google Home app as a touchscreen remote control on their Xbox operating systems.
Once your Xbox is added to the Google Home app, you can turn your console on and off, navigate menus, record videos, and control media players remotely.
The update also improves the input and response system between the console and the game, reducing the delay between pressing a button on the console and the response appearing on the screen, and this contributes to improving the gaming experience in first-person and online games.
As for Bluetooth Low Energy This will help improve the console's connection to devices other than the Xbox and improve the link with them, taking into account energy savings.
We will provide more details about the update if we get more information.
