The gaming community is just a few days away from releasing one of Capcom's best titles with an enhanced version rebuilt from scratch, of course you know we're talking about Resident Evil 4 Remake, which moved its original version of the series beyond expectations.
In a previous article, we discussed 5 things we want in the upcoming remake. And in our article, we'll discuss 5 things we don't want to see in the Resident Evil 4 Remake—or rather, the gaming community doesn't want to see.
Capcom is now known among us gamers for its ability to develop remakes. Therefore, it has the trust of its community, who expect it to deliver flawlessly. Let's get started with the details below.
5 Things We Don't Want in Resident Evil 4 Remake
Below, we'll mention the most important elements we criticized in the original version and would like to remove or modify from the upcoming remake. They are as follows:
1- Deleted content
Capcom made an unforgivable mistake when, in its remake of Resident Evil 3, it cut a lot of content from the original. The original version was originally short, and when the content was cut in the remix, it became shorter and the price was inflated.
For the upcoming remake, Capcom said it learned from its previous mistake and listened to the public and their criticism. However, the company may cut certain content from the game, for example, replacing it with other content or redesigning it. But let's hope the remake is completely faithful to the original version and its most important moments and core content.
2- Online and group game phases
We hope Capcom focuses solely on the game's story content and tries to expand it, for example, by adding new content. But we don't want online stages or multiplayer in them. Instead, there's nothing wrong with adding a mercenary stage, for example, that's useful and connected to the story stage, so the player can spend their earnings there on the story and buy weapons and other items.
3- Change the control buttons
With the major changes coming to the remake, Capcom may have to change the control buttons. Players prefer to keep them as they are; for example, to shoot, you press L2 and release R2. These things can change and can be changed through the settings, but in some cases, it's not possible to change what's already installed in the copy. Therefore, we hope Capcom has paid attention to these small details and taken them into account.
4- Frequency of enemies and lack of artificial intelligence
The original game suffered from a lot of enemy repetition, especially in terms of facial designs and other elements. We wish you hadn't seen this in the remake and instead wanted to see the greater variety of enemies, their shapes, and how they behave.
As for AI, I remember the original version being strong in this regard, so much so that sometimes we see enemies suddenly outpacing our shots. We hope to focus more on this aspect to give the player the impression of being uncomfortable and reassured by the game's creepy, dark atmosphere.
5- Ashley and her inability to move forward Leon
Ashley was a major obstacle for us as players and a major inconvenience for progression and transfer. We hope the team has realized this and improved their companion system for Leon. Instead of making her a hindrance, there are other factors that can make a character useful, such as enabling her to provide assistance in battles. And most importantly, reducing the annoying tone of shouting "Leon" during the game 😅.
The remake will be released on March 24th for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series and PC.
