Developed by Arkane Austin Studio, Redfall began as a huge ambition that Xbox fans had been waiting for. It's a cooperative shooter set in an open world full of vampires. The game carried high hopes and promised a unique gaming experience that combined horror and action elements, but it failed to deliver. It suffered from technical issues.
Microsoft acquired the studio behind Redfall sometime midway through Redfall's development as part of its Bethesda/ZeniMax purchase a few years ago, and after nearly a year of the game's disappointing launch, Microsoft closed its Arkane Austin studio, along with... Tango Gameworks and other Bethesda studios, as part of restructuring efforts.
Coincidentally, Redfall's promised DLC plans were delayed, leaving players who purchased the season and associated content early in the game's "Bite Back" release in a state of uncertainty, and now it appears Microsoft and Bethesda are trying to fix what they can. It happened.
Some time ago, citing Windows Central journalist Jez Corden, many players who purchased the Bite Back version of Redfall received notifications informing them that they would receive automatic refunds, as the Bite Back version costs around US$1,400,000. It appears the publisher is refunding the full amount to users, both on Xbox and Steam in batches to groups of players.
If you are one of those players, you should check the spam attached to your Steam or Xbox account if it doesn't appear on the main inbox page, and you can also contact Bethesda customer support to receive a refund for the physical version of Redfall Bite Back Edition as well after providing proof.
